Everything you need to know about custom baseball medals

A custom baseball medal is the award that scales: one die strikes hardware for the champions, the runners-up and every participant, with finishes — gold, silver, bronze — sorting the podium. For leagues and tournaments, medals deliver a keepsake to every family for the price of a concession-stand order.

Ordering well means choosing size and weight (the heft is the quality signal), a die design that reads at medal scale, and ribbons that carry your colors. This guide covers all of it plus pricing tiers and season timing. Have your logo? Request a custom quote and we’ll render the die.

Why go custom

The award that makes every roster spot count

A custom baseball medal means nobody leaves the season empty-handed — and the die is yours, so the same artwork strikes year after year with only the ribbon and finish changing.

Every player wins one

Participation to championship, one die covers the whole event — finishes sort the podium.

Heft that feels earned

Die-cast alloy has real weight in a nine-year-old’s hand — the difference between kept and lost.

Reusable year to year

Your league die stays on file; next season is a reorder with a new ribbon year-tag.

Sizes and weight

Medal sizes: how much heft says “champion”?

Medal quality is felt before it’s seen — diameter and weight do the talking. Participation medals can run lighter; championship hardware should thunk. Here’s the standard range.

Medal weight by diameter (grams)

0 20 40 60 80 1.75″ Participation 2″ League pick 2.5″ Podium 3″ Champions

2″ is the all-roster standard; jump to 2.5–3″ for podium and championship strikes from the same die art.

How leagues split a medal order

Most of the order is participation — which is why per-medal price at volume matters most.

Die-cast hardware that outlives the season

Medals strike from die-cast zinc alloy — the standard for real award hardware — then plate in gold, silver, bronze or antique finishes. Raised relief carries your logo, crossed bats, stitches and text with the crisp edges that stamped tin can’t fake.

Color comes from baked enamel fills inside the relief lines, and ribbons are woven polyester in your team colors — sublimated with league names for the full custom look. Everything is specced to survive a dugout, a backpack and a decade on a bedroom wall.

  • Die-cast zinc alloy — real weight, crisp relief
  • Gold / silver / bronze plate — podium-true finishes
  • Baked enamel color — team colors that don’t chip
  • 3D relief detail — stitches, bats and laces that pop
  • Sublimated ribbons — your colors and league name woven in
  • Individual poly bags — sorted, protected, hand-out ready

Bulk pricing

How medal pricing works

Medals price per piece by size, die type and quantity — the custom die is a one-time charge that amortizes over every season you reuse it, and per-medal cost falls hard at roster volumes.

FAQ

Baseball medal questions, answered

Custom die or stock die — which should we pick?
Custom die if the league will reuse the art for seasons — the one-time die charge spreads across every future order. Stock die with a printed center insert wins for one-off events and tight timelines.
What's the minimum order?
50 medals — one team’s season with podium spares. League pricing starts at 100 and improves at 500 and 2,000.
Can we mix gold, silver and bronze in one order?
Yes — all three finishes strike from the same die and count as one combined quantity for pricing. Podium sets are the standard configuration.
What goes on the ribbon?
Team colors, league or tournament name, year, and sponsor logos if you carry them — sublimated into woven polyester. Stock solid-color ribbons are the budget option.
Can each medal be personalized?
Backs can be struck with division and year for the whole run, and individually engraved names are available for podium and MVP medals — volume runs usually personalize only the top hardware.
How heavy are the medals really?
A 2-inch medal runs about 40 grams — a genuine thunk in the hand. If you’ve only handled stamped-tin awards, request a sample; the difference is the whole product.
Do you design the medal art for us?
Yes — send your logo and event name and our team renders die art built for relief: bold shapes, real depth, text that stays legible at two inches.
How long does an order take?
Custom dies run about 3–4 weeks from approved proof; stock-die orders about 2. Order when the schedule is set, not when the finals are — we’ll ship to your trophy night.
What if our roster count changes late?
Counts can adjust until the strike date, and we recommend a 5% overage — late signups and lost medals happen every season.
Do medals come ready to hand out?
Yes — each medal ships ribboned in its own poly bag, sorted by team or finish per your roster sheet. Coaches get a box they can open at home plate.
Can the same die make trophies too?
The die art carries over — medallion inserts for trophies and plaques strike from matching art, so the champion’s cup and the roster medals look like one family.
How do I get a quote?
Send teams, roster sizes, podium depth and your logo through the quote form — you’ll get die options, a rendered proof and itemized pricing back quickly.

Ready to hang hardware on the whole roster?

Send your league logo and player counts — we’ll send back die art, ribbon options and season pricing.
